Zinda - Review by Neelabh

Zinda

Star Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, John Abraham, Mahesh Manjrekar, Celina Jaitly, Raj Zutshi

Producer/Director: Sanjay Gupta

Rating: ****

He has done it again. Sanjay Gupta's Zinda is "inspired" by Park Chan-Wook's movie Old Boy. Zinda is as grim and sinister as it could be. The whole movie is shot in blue and grey tint. It may look dull to Indian movie goers, who are adapted to watch colorful movies. I definately like this movie cause its "different".
The story revolves around Bala(Sanjay Dutt). He suddenly disappears from his sea-side bunglow and find himself in a room, where he remains locked for 14 years. Rohit(John Abraham) is behind this kidnapping. Bala searches for Rohit to ask him why he has kept him for 14 years. Then the story begins. Bala roams the whole Bangkok, killing different people with different instruments. Yes, instruments. He uses hammer, drillers e.t.c.
The fighting scenes are gory enough to provide a chill effect. Though the film becomes a bit slow in the second half. Sountrack is average. Overall an above average movie to watch.
Enjoy!

Jawani Diwani- Review by Movie Maniac

Hi friends, this is the first movie review update on my blog. Its not by me. Its my MOVIE MANIAC. The gentleman doesn't want to disclose his name. Enjoy.

JAWANI DIWANI- A Youthful Joyride

Producer:- N R Pachisia
Director:- Manish Sharma
Star Cast:-Emraan Hashmi
Celina Jaitley
Hrishita Bhatt
Mahesh Manjrekar
Tiku Talsania

USP: Tits & Cleavages

Rating: * Voyeuristic Rating: ****

Was it (a) Comedy, (b) Romantic-comedy, (c) Soft Porn, or (d) None of the above (read run of the mill movie without a story line, though other ‘lines’ and ‘ridges’ were well defined and well captured ;)? I have only sobs for the poor director-writer-producer nexus and a bill for the tiger balm, which I had to purchase after the movie. Let’s remind our director that there is something called script and screenplay, which you cannot do away with.

Wannabe singer Mann Kapoor ( Emraan Hashmi) takes the centre stage of the film plot as a sex-starved dude who’s projected to have a heart melting crooning voice, but throughout the film all he could muster is ‘meaningful’ double entrendes’. His mornings at his den begin with looking down his neighbor’s tits and ends with JW Reds and babes! Nice life, eh! The two babes, Roma (Celina) and Radha (Hrishita) has failed to create the hyped oomph both with their acting and anatomies….though all the voyeurs might find Celina’s display of her pairs a bit amusing and ‘sickly’ gratifying. Yes this is the movie for voyeurs, who only like one thing…do ya need to guess what?

Hey, but this movie has one character who can be termed as the saving grace. Mahesh manjerekar aka Chappu Bhai, portrayed as an underworld Don with a heart of gold. But strange, why’s he in this movie!

If you head for the film out of extreme boredom you will be left nursing a similar or more fatal state of mind. Spare yourself.

Cheers,
Movie Maniac
