Zinda - Review by Neelabh
Zinda
Star Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, John Abraham, Mahesh Manjrekar, Celina Jaitly, Raj Zutshi
Producer/Director: Sanjay Gupta
Rating: ****
He has done it again. Sanjay Gupta's Zinda is "inspired" by Park Chan-Wook's movie Old Boy. Zinda is as grim and sinister as it could be. The whole movie is shot in blue and grey tint. It may look dull to Indian movie goers, who are adapted to watch colorful movies. I definately like this movie cause its "different".
The story revolves around Bala(Sanjay Dutt). He suddenly disappears from his sea-side bunglow and find himself in a room, where he remains locked for 14 years. Rohit(John Abraham) is behind this kidnapping. Bala searches for Rohit to ask him why he has kept him for 14 years. Then the story begins. Bala roams the whole Bangkok, killing different people with different instruments. Yes, instruments. He uses hammer, drillers e.t.c.
The fighting scenes are gory enough to provide a chill effect. Though the film becomes a bit slow in the second half. Sountrack is average. Overall an above average movie to watch.
Enjoy!
